Dear Kurdish Brothers and Sisters,
Seepan Muhlis-Mohammad Gardi is a five years old Kurdish boy lives with his parents in Hamilton, Canada. Seepan has been diagnosed with a serious illness called Bone Marrow Disease. The Kurdish name of this disease is ?Nexosh Shrpencey Mox sk.? You can save the life of Seepan easily, without any side effects, by volunteering to donate some of your bone marrow through the Unrelated Bone Marrow Donor Registry in your area anywhere in the world. All it takes is a little bit of your time, a simple blood test and a willingness to donate your bone marrow to Sipan who critically in need of a transplant. If your bone marrow is a match to that of Sipan, and you donate some of your bone marrow to save his life, his wish will bring you or anyone you want to live in Canada for as long as you want. What is bone marrow? Bone marrow is the tissue found in the soft centre of your bone. Bone marrow contains stem cells that grow blood cells, including red cells that carry oxygen, white cells that fight infection, and platelets that help to stop bleeding. When bone marrow becomes diseased, one form of treatment is to destroy the patient?s diseased marrow and replace it with the marrow of a healthy, matching donor. Why are we asking our Kurdish people for this donation? Anyone who is eligible and willing to donate may be able to help. However, some proteins called ?antigens? are more commonly found in particular ethnic groups, and since Sipan is a Kurd, we are asking you to please save his life by donating your bone marrow. Young Kurdish donors, with many years ahead of them, are also important to Sipan. How can you be a donor?
